“I just had a lovely dinner with cousins who brought out an incredible bottle of Pinot Noir. McHenry 2002 estate bottled -- only 386 cases.

Right after the pour, I couldn't figure out where the smell of Jasmine Grandiflorum was coming from. Asked my husband if he was smelling it -- he said he thought he'd been imagining it. Then we all sat there, noses in glasses and also found lilac -- right after the jasmine. Over 2.5-3 hours this wonderful wine unfolded. There was some tobacco and cedar along with many other things one frequently finds in wines (cassis, raspberry, mitti, etc). One cousin insisted he smelled violet. I could just barely grasp it but it was almost muguet to me instead -- seemed to be hovering around with the lilac.

When the glasses were empty and the bottle history, we were still smelling it. The finish was incredible. The last drop in the glasses was wafting roses. My husband and I were smelling a cross between Heirloom and White Delight. One cousin was smelling either Sterling Silver or Angel Face. But we were definitely all smelling roses. I've never smelled so many different florals in one wine. If any of you get a chance to seek out a bottle of this, I highly recommend it. What a fantastic thing to have such a perfume-like sniff-a-palooza experience from a bottle of wine instead."
