We are pleased to share our 2016 McHenry Estate Pinot Noir with you. This wine has a deep rich hue with a delicate violet bouquet. The pallette begins with a gentle hing of vanilla and raspberry, with an opulent finish of black pepper, currants and dark fruit. This vintage is exceedingly rare. In 2016 our historically dry farmed vineyard was impacted by a long drought, producing one of our smallest crops on record. Despite the low yield, the quality of the fruit was exceptional, producing this delicate and lovely Pinot noir.
We picked on September 14 at 22.8 degrees Brix, 0.9 total acidity, and 3.2 pH. The wine rested for nearly two years in 60 gallon Francois Freres oak barrels. There are only 56 cases!
